Dr. Gene Boysen, DVM
Veterinarian
A 1989 graduate of Kansas State University, Dr. Gene Boysen has dedicated his entire career to caring for pets in the St. Cloud area. With over 35 years of experience, he specializes in small animal medicine and surgery, with special interests in orthopedic surgery and ultrasound. Dr. Boysen is passionate about offering the best possible care for every patient and values the relationships he builds with families. Outside the clinic, he enjoys fishing, running, biking, and spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Dr. Gina Kobluk, DVM
Dr. Gina Kobluk earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Minnesota Veterinary Medical Center in 1997. Her career has focused on small animal emergency medicine and surgery, and she also dedicates time to shelter medicine, helping animals in need at local rescues. Dr. Kobluk has a wide variety of pets at home and takes great joy in improving the lives of both her patients and their families.

Dr. Dawson LaBorde, DVM
Veterinarian
Dr. Dawson LaBorde is an experienced veterinarian who has been serving pets and their people since 2015. A proud graduate of the Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine, he brings over six years of veterinary expertise to his role as Associate Veterinarian.
Dr. LaBorde is passionate about working closely with pet owners to develop personalized treatment plans that suit both the patient’s needs and the family’s goals. His collaborative approach and genuine care make him a trusted partner in every pet’s health journey.
Outside the clinic, Dr. LaBorde enjoys a full and active life. He cherishes time with his wife and their three young children, helps on his family’s beefalo farm, and makes the most of the great outdoors. A lifelong learner, Dr. LaBorde has rebuilt four vehicle engines, built multiple computer servers, and even finds time to nurture his growing collection of bonsai trees.
Office Manager

Jane, Office Manager
Jane has been working with Dr. Boysen for over 30 years, and she prides herself on exceptional team building and making sure the staff is happy and has everything they need to care for our patients. Originally from Central Minnesota, Jane’s love for animals began growing up on her family’s dairy farm, and today, she even keeps a flock of chickens she loves to spoil. When she’s not at work, she loves spending time with her family, including her husband, her two successful sons, and her wonderful daughter-in-law. She also has a passion for archery hunting, boating, farming, hanging out with her chickens, and being outside in general.

Amy, CVT
Certified Veterinary Technician
Amy brings over 20 years of experience in veterinary medicine, having studied at Ridgewater College in Willmar, MN. She takes pride in providing compassionate, high-quality care to every patient and values clear communication and education for pet owners. Outside of work, Amy enjoys woodworking and resin art.

Arlene, CVT
With 15 years in the field and a degree from Ridgewater College – Willmar, Arlene is passionate about being an advocate for her patients and giving them a voice. She’s deeply involved in her community, volunteering at her church and the local fire department. When she’s not at the clinic, Arlene enjoys attending MN Wild hockey games, spending time with family, and finding new adventures — roller coasters and skydiving included.

Jenny, CVT
Jenny has been part of the veterinary field for nearly two decades after graduating from Ridgewater College. She finds fulfillment in helping pets recover when they’re sick or injured, providing comfort and care during every step of the healing process. Outside of work, she rescues and rehabilitates injured or abandoned cats and dogs and enjoys life at home with her husband, two sons, and their ten pets.

Sara, CVT
Sara graduated from Ridgewater College – Willmar and has worked in the veterinary field for seven years. She takes pride in helping sick pets recover and regain their health. When not at work, Sara enjoys fishing, four-wheeling, and spending time with her three dogs and three cats. A lifelong animal lover, she has even traveled to Ecuador to broaden her experiences.

Jessica, VT
Jessica has been in the veterinary field for over ten years and studied at the Minnesota School of Business. She finds purpose in watching patients improve — especially those facing critical conditions — and loves seeing them go home happy and healthy. In her free time, Jessica enjoys traveling with her family, including memorable trips to Banff National Park, where she once drank water straight from a glacier.

Olivia, VT
Olivia graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, MN, and takes great joy in seeing patients grow up through the years — from their first puppy or kitten visits to their regular wellness exams. Outside of work, she enjoys horseback riding, reading, working out, and spending quality time with her two cats, Raven and Penny.

Audrey, VA
Audrey joined Boysen Animal Hospital after earning her degree from College of Saint Benedict / Saint John’s University. With a year and a half of experience, she takes pride in being a voice for animals who can’t speak for themselves. Outside the clinic, she enjoys reading, knitting, sewing, making pottery, and caring for her plants and fish. Audrey recently applied to veterinary school to continue her passion for animal care.

Chelsey, VA
Chelsey has worked as a veterinary assistant for three years and brings a nurturing, hands-on approach to every patient she meets. She loves getting to know clients and their pets, from that very first puppy or kitten visit to helping comfort sick pets in their time of need. A former professional in human medicine, she is grateful every day to have transitioned into veterinary care. In her free time, she enjoys camping and spending time with her family.

Mikayla has been a part of the veterinary field for three years, following her studies at St. Cloud State University. She loves helping clients and their pets feel safe and cared for from the moment they walk through the door. Outside of work, Mikayla enjoys singing and spending time with her two cats and two dogs. As the oldest of six siblings, she brings a natural sense of empathy and responsibility to her work.

Mahalla, Receptionist / CSR
A graduate of Apollo High School, Mahalla joined the veterinary field in 2023. She excels at gathering information to assist the doctors and technicians in diagnosing and treating patients. Her lifelong dream has been to work around animals, and she enjoys relaxing, playing with her kids, and spending time with her dog, Jack. Mahalla has also volunteered with the Tri-County Humane Society, further demonstrating her dedication to animal welfare.
